Supported by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC)
and National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS)
Following the success of previous workshops in Sopot (2010) and
Bad Tölz (2008) we are
pleased to confirm details of the 3rd International EULAG Workshop. The workshop aims
to bring together researchers from multidisciplinary backgrounds to discuss recent
progress and experience related to Eulerian and/or Lagrangian based fluid solvers. It will
focus on methods development, complex multiscale simulations and their validation. As in
previous years, the workshop will also serve as a forum for the exchange of information
among EULAG model users and developers of related numerical methods.
Workshop Topics will include:
Algorithm developments contributing to Eulerian, Lagrangian, Arbitrary Lagrangian
Eulerian (ALE), Semi-Lagrangian and particle methods, advection and elliptic solvers, explicit and implicit time integration techniques for stiff problems, physical
parameterisations, mesh adaption, computational efficiency, accuracy and parallelization
Applications to geophysical flows, hydrodynamics and other relevant engineering
and physical problems.
Deadlines:
The deadline for pre-booking a hotel room expired on October 24, 2011.
We shall still try to assist in late bookings in an alternative accommodation.
To request assistance e-mail to
j.szmelter@lboro.ac.uk, as soon as possible.
All presentations will be contributed. Please submit a half page long abstract by email
to j.szmelter@lboro.ac.uk by February 1, 2012.
The committee will e-mail notifications of acceptance by February 20, 2012.
Conference Information
Accommodation and location:
Loughborough University
is the largest sport university in the UK and is the official
preparation camp headquarters for Team GB and Japan for the London 2012
Olympic Games, therefore accommodation at this time in Loughborough will be scarce.
We have made a block booking at the university hotel
www.burleigh-court.co.uk, next to the
venue, at a special rate of £60 per night including breakfast. To ensure the rooms are
kept available, we need to pre-book them by October 24, 2011. Bookings can be
cancelled without charge, up to 31 days prior to check-in.
Transportation: The university is well connected by rail, road and air.
East-Midlands airport is 7 miles from the university.
Registration: There are no registration fees
To see around:
There are many places to visit locally, while famous
www.stratford-upon-avon.co.uk,
www.chatsworth.org, and
www.sherwoodforest.org.uk
are less than an hour drive away.
